The Monkey Show is very happy to announce that we are now selling at Cows!  No not actual animals on a farm, the other Cows, you know… If you are anywhere on the East Coast Cows mean Ice Cream, PEI, and now Sock Moo-keys!  You can still have a souviner of Cows when your ice cream is finished! The make your own Sock Moo-key kit is complete with all the parts of our famous make your own sock monkey kit, including presewn and cut parts, needle, thread, stuffing, buttons and of course the invitation to join our website by uploading your completed monkey to the show.  The only difference with Moo-key kits is that they are exclusive to Cows. You can find Cows throughout Canada at some pretty fun spots, Niagra Falls, Banff, Whistler, Halifax, and of course PEI!

Halifax’s uniquely original sock monkey store attended the Wagjag Halifax blockparty.  Wagjag is  introducing themselves to Halifax.  The Monkey show offered make you own monkey pictures to all the kids and a great time was had by all.  Thanks for all the fun Wagjag!!

 

It’s real life fairy tale for Mon-Kate on this beautiful morning April 29, 2011 when her very own Prince Wil-key made her his wife.

She looked stunning in her designer dress and he was as handsome as any prince charming could be. What is in-store for the future King and Queen? Will there be any little monkeys jumping on their bed any time soon?

Rumor has it that they will be honeymooning deep in the jungle, away from all the cameras and paparazzi. Somewhere they can relax and eat all the bananas they want!

Our home is missing our dog Kelsey right now. She has been in the hospital for the past 5 nights and we’re hoping to have her back tomorrow. She is only 3 and has been through so much already. Poor little thing!  She does have her blanket and monkey to keep her company.

Have you ever taken your monkey anywhere to keep you company? An overnight stay at the hospital? Snuggles in bed while you have the flu?

I have had someone buy a monkey kit for their daughter to make for her mother who was going into the hospital. The mother was able to send pictures of her with the monkey to her daughter, giving the daughter a bit of a connection with mom even though she couldn’t be with her. I think that comfort monkey worked both ways!

I’ve sold monkey kits to people to give to someone who is staying in the hospital so they have a calm and quiet activity to do, with a finished product to keep them company.

Long Lake is a beautiful park in Halifax with walking paths, trails through the woods, waterfalls and swimming holes. This time of year it is muddy from all the melting snow and ice but the waterfalls and streams are that much better! We go there quite a bit as we can let our dog use the trails to run leash free. Even if we didn’t have a dog I’m sure we’d be there all the time anyway. A great place to swim in the summer, skate in the winter and watch the leaves change in the fall.  If you haven’t been there before you should go.

We are so happy to be able to share our ”Make your own Bunny Kit” with everyone.  Hopping onto our shelves and into your hearts, they are just too cute!  Easter is just around the corner! 

Please see us in our Dresden Row location and stay and make a bunny with us, or at the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market on the weekends to get yours.
